UiTM Rembau Launches Book To Celebrate A Decade Of Media Education

REMBAU, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (FCMS) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Negeri Sembilan, Rembau Campus, has launched MassComm Rembau: Pulsing Through a Decennium to mark nearly a decade of shaping media education and discourse.

Negeri Sembilan Youth and Sports Development Committee chairman Datuk Mustapha Nagoor said today’s youth need sharp thinking and strong principles to navigate an increasingly complex media landscape.

“Media is no longer just entertainment but key to the nation’s socio-political and economic stability. Without ethical communication, society is easily trapped by information manipulation that can undermine harmony,” he said after the book launch at UiTM’s Dewan Biduanda, Rembau Campus, held alongside the COMMPULSE #Disconnected programme today.

The book traces FCMS UiTM Rembau’s journey, showcasing its academic work, student development, and role in boosting media literacy and critical thinking.

COMMPULSE project head Nurul Izzah Mohamad Zaky said the programme, run by final-semester Diploma in Communication and Media students, encourages the public to reflect on the media’s role in shaping collective understanding.

Nurul Izzah said a key feature of the programme was the Media Matters: Navigating Truth, Trust and Transparency forum, featuring representatives from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, the Malaysian Press Institute and the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia.
