National Tennis Centre To Be Transformed Into World-class Tennis Hub

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Stadium Corporation (PSM) intends to turn the National Tennis Centre in Jalan Duta here into a world-class tennis hub and a landmark for the development of tennis in the country.

PSM said this is in line with its vision to provide international-standard facilities that will support the development of local athletes, attract world-class tournaments and strengthen Malaysia’s image as a regional sports destination.

“The National Tennis Centre had previously hosted international meets, such as the Davis Cup and the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup, with the support of the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) through the Sports Matching Grant initiative.

“Judging by the increased demand, PSM will invest in upgrading works, including court repairs, fencing, supporting facilities and the installation of new floodlights. These facilities will be opened to the public via the Courtsite online booking system,” PSM said in a statement today.

In a bid to strengthen the national tennis ecosystem, PSM will also collaborate with the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) and the Duta International Tennis Academy to make full use of the facilities through bulk bookings at special rates starting from January 2026.

PSM also stressed that the National Tennis Centre would remain as the country's main tennis hub and would not be converted to other sports, like pickeball or padel.

“PSM is confident the National Tennis Centre can produce more world-class players and attract more prestigious tournaments, thus elevating Malaysia’s image on the global stage,” it added.
