KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- The Bank of China Beijing Marathon 2025 officially opened for global registration on Sept 10, welcoming runners from around the world to join one of Asia’s most iconic races.
According to a statement, interested participants can register on the Beijing Marathon website, the Bank of China (BOC) website or via the “BOC Compass” app.
The race will kick off on November 2, with 32,000 runners expected to take part in the golden autumn run through the historic and modern streets of Beijing.
First held in 1981, the Beijing Marathon is now in its 43rd year and known among Chinese runners as the “National Marathon”. The course brilliantly connects the city’s historical landmarks and modern architecture, from Tiananmen Square to the Bird's Nest Stadium.
Beijing is the world's first city to have hosted the Summer and Winter Olympics. Beyond the venues and events, its Olympic legacy has fostered a growing culture of "making sports part of daily life", inspiring more people to recognise the importance of sports and participate actively.
The city is now striving to build up its reputation as a "Global Sport City", backed by robust urban management, a thriving sports industry, and citizens' passion for athletics, in which the Beijing Marathon is an experience worth participating in firsthand.
