IPOH, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- A total of 56 security personnel today successfully completed the Counter Terrorist Team (CTT) Course and Sniper 69 Commando Series 1/2025.

The course, which began on June 15 and ended today, involved six officers and 50 personnel of other ranks from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and Armed Forces, covering marksmanship, tactical raids, close-range combat operations and extreme security crisis simulations.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Ismail said the two courses not only challenged physical endurance but also tested the patience, discipline, mental acuity and emotional resilience of the elite participants.

“Successfully completing this course is not only a personal achievement but also a great responsibility to continue with excellence in securing the nation's security defence,” he said.

He said this during the closing ceremony of the Counter Terrorist Team (CTT) Course and Sniper 69 Commando Course Series 1/2025 at the Sultan Nazrin Shah Camp (SNS Camp) here today.

Also present were Commander SAC Hamzah Hashim of 69 Commando and Perak Deputy Police chief DCP Mohammad Azlin Sadari.

Khalid said the participation of 'friendly forces', including the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) comprising the Special Operations Group (GGK), the Naval Special Forces (PASKAL) and the (RMAF) Air Special Forces (PASKAU) in the course, demonstrated strong integration and solidarity among the country's key security agencies.

Meanwhile, Hashim stated in his speech that the participants will move on to the next phase, Sea Combat (SECOM) which emphasises mastery of combat and underwater operations, and then the Tactical Parachute Course.

“Throughout this process, they are exposed to various contemporary threats with deployment skills across land, sea and air, to produce versatile Commando Infantry and subsequently transform this unit into a multispectrum force," he said.

Meanwhile, he said that the 69 Commando is currently in the process of submitting a proposal under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) for the construction of new quarters in the SNS Camp.

“The Sultan Nazrin Shah Camp not only serves as a centre for producing special infantry forces for the Royal Malaysian Police, but also acts as a platform for strategic cooperation with domestic as well as international security agencies.

“It is also a symbol of our continued readiness and commitment in safeguarding the country's sovereignty," he said.
