JASIN, July 30 (Bernama) -- Melaka became the second stop for the Konvoi Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2025, which continues its nationwide tour in conjunction with this year’s National Month celebrations.

State Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan said the convoy involved more than 120 vehicles of various types, including high-powered motorcycles, with participants from various government departments and agencies.

“For today's journey through Melaka, there are four stopover locations covering a distance of more than 60 kilometres, starting from Kolej Vokasional Datuk Seri Abu Zahar after receiving the flag handover from the Johor convoy.

“The convoy will stop at its second location at McDonald’s Batu Berendam, followed by Masjid Ar-Rahman in Durian Tunggal, and ends today at Pasar Menggong,” he told reporters here.

Earlier, he officiated the launch and flag-off ceremony of the KMJG Melaka 2025, which was also attended by Melaka Information Department (JaPen) director Ab Rasil Hajatil and Johor KMJG Convoy Chief Saiful Hisham Mansor.

Fairul Nizam, who is also the KMJG 2025 Melaka Convoy Chief, said activities at the stopover locations include the distribution of Jalur Gemilang flags to the public as well as promoting the ‘One House, One Flag’ campaign.

He said the convoy will continue to Negeri Sembilan tomorrow, starting from the Rembia State Constituency Development and Coordination Committee (Japerun) office before being handed over to the Negeri Sembilan Convoy Chief at the Rembau Museum.

Last Sunday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the flag-off of KMJG 2025 in conjunction with the launch of National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 campaign at Dataran Tanjung Emas in Muar, Johor.
