KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s largest integrated fintech company, has launched the TNG Digital Business Account, a zero-barrier digital solution aimed at supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and gig workers.
The fully digital eWallet account, which requires no fees, paperwork or minimum balance, was developed to help underserved and informal business communities manage income, digitalise operations and grow their businesses securely using only a mobile device.
The launch was officiated by Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Senator Dr Fuziah Salleh, alongside TNG Digital chief executive officer Alan Ni.
In a statement today, TNG Digital said the Business Account is issued as a licensed e-money issuer regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia.
It caters to SMEs, hawkers, informal traders, and gig workers who are often excluded from conventional financial systems.
Ni said the Business Account was developed to address a critical gap in the financial services sector for smaller businesses.
“Although micro and small businesses contribute nearly 40 per cent to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and support almost half the national workforce, many still lack access to tools that can help them scale and operate efficiently in today’s digital economy.
“With the TNG Digital Business Account, we are removing barriers by enabling instant account opening, real-time fund receipt, and seamless transfers across banks and eWallets, all within a secure and inclusive ecosystem at zero cost,” he said.
Ni said the initiative aligns with the company’s broader mission to simplify business and provide every entrepreneur, regardless of scale, an opportunity to grow.
Fuziah, in her speech, said the launch of the Business Account reflects an important step towards building a more inclusive and accessible digital ecosystem, particularly for communities previously excluded from digital services.
“This is not just about technology, it is about inclusivity, ensuring that everyone, regardless of size or geography, can participate and benefit from the growth of the new economy,” she said.
Fuziah commended TNG Digital’s support of government initiatives such as the Retail Digitalisation Initiative (ReDI) to accelerate digital adoption among rural and small traders.
TNG Digital said the Business Account offers not only payment capabilities but also tools to drive visibility and engagement through features such as “Near Me”, cashback rewards via GOyang-GOyang, and merchant voucher campaigns.
It also includes safety features such as a dedicated PIN, a kill switch and 24/7 fraud protection.
Looking ahead, TNG Digital plans to expand the offering to include micro-lending, savings, and protection services tailored for small business owners.
