Sacrificial Ritual Cultivates Compassion, Core Pillar Of Malaysia MADANI - Shamsul Iskandar

IPOH, June 7 (Bernama) -- The practice of the sacrificial ritual serves as a strong foundation for fostering harmony, peace and unity among the Muslim community in the state, in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision.

Senior political secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, said that one of the six key pillars of the MADANI concept is ihsan, which means compassion and care for all.

He explained that ihsan is deeply rooted in the values of empathy and kindness, encompassing love for others, including family members, neighbours and the wider community, particularly minority groups.

"The observance of the sacrificial ritual also carries significant economic and social benefits, as reflected in the distribution of sacrificial meat across all layers of society, both the wealthy and the underprivileged.

"The Prime Minister has consistently emphasised the importance of returning to the core philosophy of the sacrificial ritual, which is to assist those in need," he told Bernama at the sacrificial ritual held at Masjid Jamek Al-Amin near Tambun today.

Shamsul Iskandar said the Prime Minister had contributed 126 cows to be distributed to mosques and surau in the Tambun parliamentary constituency.

"This year’s contribution is higher than last year’s, as Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants to ensure that every mosque and surau is included.

"We have also informed all mosque and surau chairmen to ensure the sacrificial meat is distributed to as many people as possible, especially families from the B40 group," he said.

He added that the contribution reflects the Prime Minister’s ongoing efforts to support the community, particularly those in need, while also encouraging the spirit of communal effort.
