The awards were presented by its vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah at the event, which carried the theme ‘Menjulang Kompetensi, Menyahut True North’.
He said the awards could inspire more academic staff at UPM to maintain standards of excellence and enhance innovation in the teaching and learning process.
“This award directly encourages and nurtures creativity and innovation among lecturers. It supports the use of various teaching and learning methods based on student-centred learning (SCL),” he said in his speech.
He added that the ceremony also reflected the university’s commitment to recognising and appreciating the dedication, excellence, and high-quality talent of UPM staff who demonstrated outstanding performance throughout 2024.
Meanwhile, recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Fellowship Award (Outstanding Consultant), Prof Dr Zaiton Samdin, said the award was a source of pride that she could share with colleagues who supported her in her research work.
