KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- South Indian playback singer, songwriter and music director Pradeep Kumar is all ready to set the stage on fire, along with 24 versatile classical musicians, in the 'Naan Pradeep Kumar' concert on Saturday (June 29) at 7pm at the Axiata Arena here.

The 38-year-old artist, who has performed in Malaysia for three consecutive years, is the first South Indian singer to collaborate with a large group of versatile classical musicians in the country.

Pradeep said he is thrilled to be sharing the stage with the Datuk Mus and Friends, on a larger scale this year.

"For my previous concerts in 2022 and 2023, I performed with the Datuk Mus Quartet but this time around I am so excited to be sharing the stage with 24 classical musicians,” he told Bernama here today.

"The love and support that I have been receiving from my Malaysian fans have been overwhelming, and I believe this concert would be a perfect gift for them as it would be a fusion of symphony," he told Bernama here today.

He added that the upcoming concert would be both, a visual and an audio treat for his fans.

The concert will also have performances by other talents from India such as Anthony Daasan, Kalyani Nair, Rithu Vysakh, Ashwin Suresh, Shallu Varun, Amrit, Bharath Sankar, Jhanu Chanthar and Tapass Naresh.

Meanwhile, concert organiser Aakaar Foundation's co-founder, S.Vinoth Kumar said this year's concert is set to be unique from previous ones as there will be a wayang kulit performance as the opening act.

"It is an initiative by the foundation to promote the art (wayang kulit),” he said.

Vinoth said 10,000 fans are expected to attend the concert.

Meanwhile, the foundation is also moving towards sustainability by reducing the usage of plastics in any form during the concert.

To date, Pradeep he has sung over 100 songs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
