MELAKA, May 26 (Bernama) -- The National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) which was established by the government has helped increase the income of traders through various assistance, especially related to the use of technology and advisory services.

The owner of Gerobok Puan Kraf and Food, Noor Baizura Abdul Wahid, 39, said as a result of her active participation in NADI Jalan Kemus, Alor Gajah, her income is now able to reach five figures a month after starting business selling various handicraft and food products since 2017.

"In 2017, I was working in Kuala Lumpur, followed my husband back home here to start a business. At first I just opened a stall on roadside selling handicraft items only.

"As I do not have a laptop, I started visiting NADI in 2019 to use the services at the centre for paperwork and to apply for grants from the government," she said.

She said this when met by Bernama at the RIUH x National Youth Day pavilion at Dataran Pahlawan, Banda Hilir here today.

Commenting further, the mother of five children aged between three and 14 years said that at NADI, the staff at the centre then taught her how to do paperwork better and neatly.

She said as a result of her application paper, she received several grants from MARA, Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Mardi) and Rubber Industry Smallholder Development Authority (Risda).

"Besides being taught how to organise paperwork, I also attended classes provided by NADI to open an online business through e-commerce applications such as Shopee and Lazada.

"As a result of the guidance of NADI staff, I am now able to physically open two stores in Simpang Ampat, Alor Gajah and successfully increase my income to five figures every month," said Noor Baizura who lives in Taboh Naning.

Therefore, she called for both online and physical traders to seek advice from NADI to improve their knowledge and skills thus generating better income for entrepreneurs.
