MELAKA, May 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), through its television news channel, Bernama TV, is collaborating with China Global Television Network (CGTN) to produce three special documentaries in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations this year.
Bernama Head of TV, Nor Hamzeela Md Hambali said the three documentaries are expected to be aired on both CGTN and Bernama TV at the end of this month.
She said both parties are contributing ideas and insights to produce the documentaries.
“Part of the filming was done in China, where Bernama sent a crew to the country for two weeks. Now, it is the CGTN crew’s turn to spend five days in Malaysia to conduct filming.
“One of the three documentaries focuses on the history of Malaysia-China relations, where we took the Chinese crew to Melaka, marking a significant starting point of the relationship between Malaysia and China,” she said after the Bernama TV and CGTN’s interview with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh at Seri Negeri here today.
Bernama TV broadcast journalist, Nor Liyana Zulkifli and CGTN representative Chen Tong conducted the interview.
Nor Hamzeela said Transport Minister Anthony Loke was also interviewed by the duo yesterday for the purpose of the documentaries.
Malaysia officially established diplomatic relations with China on May 31, 1974, making it the first ASEAN member country to extend the hand of friendship to Beijing.
