KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Malakoff Corporation Bhd's wholly owned subsidiary, Malakoff Technical Solutions Sdn Bhd, has formed a partnership with China Northeast Electric Power Engineering & Services Co Ltd (NEPCS) to supply technical manpower for the operation and maintenance (O&M) for NEPCS’s combined cycle power plant (CCPP) projects in Bangladesh.
The independent power producer said it will be leveraging its decades-long expertise in CCPP O&M, offering its services to three power plants with a total capacity of about 1,500 megawatts.
“This marks Malakoff's inaugural venture into securing H-class O&M projects, opening avenues to further expand its expertise in H-class technology and thereby positioning itself for the growing demand in CCPP within Malaysia,” the company said in a statement.
The H-class technology is among the latest technologies in gas turbines, which have seen significant evolution and engineering advancements aimed at reducing carbon emissions and supporting the modern requirements of flexible power generation.
Malakoff managing director and group chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said the partnership serves as a testament to the group’s dedication in broadening its technical expertise internationally, while relentlessly pursuing operational excellence.
“We have a highly skilled team and one of our main focuses in O&M is to team up with partners strategically to elevate competitiveness and optimise our business performance.
“I am confident that by mobilising our experts to these CCPP projects in Bangladesh, we will not only enhance the performance of these plants but also provide our team with valuable exposure to new technologies,” he said.
According to Malakoff, the partnership aligns with its newly-established business pillar, Malakoff Energy, which ensures a dependable and cost-effective energy supply through quality energy management services, while also promoting energy conservation and effectiveness.
