Qabil Irfan To Compete In Esbk Moto4 Category For 2024 Season

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's young racer Qabil Irfan Azlan is set to compete in the Spanish Superbike Championship (ESBK) in the Moto4 category with the Spanish team, VHC Frando Racing, for the full 2024 season.

According to a statement from ZK Racing, the 2023 MiniGP World Series champion will depart for Spain this Sunday to participate in pre-season testing on March 16 and 17 at the Jerez Circuit and will stay there to compete in the season opener on April 6 and 7.

"The ESBK Championship will consist of 7 rounds. The Moto4 category includes riders aged 12 to 14 and will compete at circuits in Spain and Portugal," the statement said today.

After the race at the Jerez Circuit, Qabil is scheduled to continue his campaign at the Valencia Circuit, Spain (June 1 and 2); Estoril Circuit, Portugal (July 6 and 7); Catalunya Circuit, Spain (July 27 and 28); Estoril Circuit, Portugal (Aug 31 and Sept 1); Navarra Circuit, Spain (Oct 26 and 27), and return to the Jerez Circuit to conclude the 2024 season on Nov 2 and 3.

The 12-year-old racer, under the development programme of ZK Racing since 2020, is also expected to participate in the FIM MiniGP Malaysia Series in the 190cc category this year.
