JASIN, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- Forty volunteers from the Melaka Community Paramedic programme will be assigned at four checkpoints during the Independence Declaration of the Federation of Malaya celebration, scheduled to take place in Bandar Hilir tomorrow night.

The state Health, Human Resources and Unity deputy exco, Siti Faizah Abd Azis, said that this was to ensure the smooth running of the historic event, to commemorate the events of Feb 20, 1956.

“Each paramedic team comprises ten individuals, led by a doctor and equipped with equipment and ambulances, ready to provide emergency assistance if required during the celebration.

“All of them are dedicated to delivering the best service, especially considering the significant number of attendees, including foreign tourists, expected to witness the event, to be officiated by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” she said to reporters, after the state-level mass circumcision, involving 40 boys, aged seven to 12, today.

Apart from that, early schooling aid was also distributed to 50 underprivileged students in the Sungai Rambai state constituency, to help ease the burden on their families.
