KOTA BHARU, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- A total of 4,274 students from schools and institutions of higher learning in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang have received benefits through Yayasan Bank Rakyat's (YBR) early education assistance, with a total allocation of over RM616,000 last year.

YBR general manager Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani said that the foundation has always been concerned in providing help, especially to students who need it to get a better quality of education.

“YBR will always be committed to helping socio-economics through education, as well as helping underprivileged students.

“Apart from that, students can also use this assistance to purchase learning equipment,” he said in a statement today.

He added that previously YBR also provided Early Schooling Aid (BAP) by disbursing RM100,000 to B40 students at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).

"This assistance involves 100 B40 students, from semesters one to three, who are pursuing diplomas and bachelor's degrees, with an allocation of RM1,000 each. Their selection is identified by the UMK Student Affairs Department.

“I hope that this incentive will motivate students to pursue their studies, and will continue to show excellent performance," he said.
