KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) has launched PRUMan, the first plan in the country tailored for men, and PRULady, both special critical illness plans designed to cater to the distinct health and risk requirements of men and women.

In a statement today, PAMB said the two comprehensive plans are ideal for young men and women as premiums start from as low as RM53 per month.

“The plans offer up to 260 percent comprehensive coverage for gender-specific cancers such as breast, ovarian, cervical, prostate, and testicular as well as other diseases. Both plans also include a Fertility Care benefit of up to RM15,000 for In-vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) treatments.

“Another first in the market is that the Fertility Care benefit covers cryopreservation of sperm and oocyte if a patient needs to undergo chemotherapy or radiotherapy,” the statement read.

According to PAMB, breast cancer had the highest payout rate in the medical claims category in the first half of 2023, which saw an increase of 19.3 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

“In Malaysia, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer affecting women with about one in 19 women at risk. As for men, prostate cancer remains the third most common cancer with a prevalence of 7.7 cases per 100,000 men,” it said.

Furthermore, PRUMan and PRULady offer groundbreaking Wellness Care coverage, providing up to RM5,000 for Mental Care and Severe Acne Diagnosis as part of their commitment to recognising the significance of maintaining emotional and physical well-being.

Both plans also reward customers with a Life Celebration Benefit of up to three percent of their Basic Sum Assured for one out of 10 key milestones, such as purchasing their first property, receiving a career promotion, or getting married, which is claimable up to three times.

Moreover, the Golden Cash Rewards and Money Back Benefit provide an extra boost for retirement, where customers can receive a total of 110% of their total premiums paid. The payout is divided into five percent at 60 years, another five percent at 65 years, and the remaining 100% when they turn 70.

Meanwhile, PAMB chief Marketing & Partnerships Distribution officer Eric Wong said Prudential Malaysia has a long history of providing dedicated medical solutions that cater to the unique needs of its customers.

“In our 100 years, we have pioneered numerous innovative products. We were the first in the country to launch women-specific plans and the first to roll-out gender gender-specific critical illness plans.

“It is fitting that we launch the first insurance solution exclusively for Malaysian men so they can manage their future health needs,” he said.
