ANDORRA TO OPEN SEVEN NEW SHARIAH-FRIENDLY WOMEN AND CHILDREN HOSPITAL BRANCHES

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25 (Bernama) -- Andorra Healthcare Bhd plans to open seven new branches of its shariah-friendly Andorra Women and Children Hospital in Johor, Kelantan, Penang and Selangor within six years beginning next year.

Andorra Healthcare director and founder Dr Khamsiah Muda said the planned expansion was due to increased demand for its services from women outside the Klang Valley, in addition to focusing on high-density areas.

“After six years since the hospital’s establishment, we have gone through difficult times, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic era, and we are now more mature and ready to expand aggressively,” she told reporters during the hi-tea ceremony with media, bloggers and influencers in conjunction with Andorra’s sixth anniversary here today.

She said under the expansion, 10 new multi-disciplines related to women and children, namely orthopaedics, ophthalmology, surgery and others, would be set up at the new hospitals besides the three existing multi-disciplines, namely midwifery and gynaecology, paediatrics and anesthesiology.

“Additionally, we will increase the number of beds from 60 to 80 as compared to the 34 beds in the existing hospital,” she said.

Dr Khamsiah said Andorra also aims to expand its healthcare services by developing a specialist clinic complex and a “confinement and spa” hotel near the hospital in Seri Kembangan in the near future.

“At this hotel, we will provide services, including psychiatrists to assess the health level of mothers who have just given birth, in addition to offering parenting support and education to married couples,” she said.

So far, the hospital has performed 12,000 baby births since 2017.
