Call On Maiwp To Organise Regular Workshop On Ethics And Counter Management

23/11/2023 07:31 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Department) Datuk Dr Mohd Nai’m Mohktar wants the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) to organise regular workshops on ethics and counter management to enhance the quality of service of agencies under its purview.

He said exposing the agencies’ personnel to high-quality ethics and counter management is crucial as they are the frontliners in providing guidance and information to customers.

Such exposure would also enable the personnel to understand the principles of excellent service and adopt them as an efficient work culture.

“From my observation after visiting several agency counters and seeing it for myself, there are officers watching videos, not looking at customers' faces, not smiling, and even wearing bathroom slippers while on duty at the counter.

“As such, I urge all departments and agencies to be creative in providing quality service to meet customers’ expectations and satisfaction,” he said when opening the Workshop on Ethics and Quality Counter Management 2023 here today.

The minister said efficient and courteous counter services would contribute positively to the agencies’ image.

“Our agencies are government agencies that provide customer services such as zakat assistance, counselling, business support, enforcement, marriage and divorce, education, and business assistance.

“Therefore, it is imperative that transactions with customers at the counter be given attention, especially in providing the best service possible to ensure customer satisfaction,” he said.

Thus, Mohd Na’im called on all agency personnel, especially those on the front lines, to continue striving to provide the best service by treating customers politely and concluding their transactions in a friendly manner.
