SUBANG JAYA, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) today launched phase two of the F:30 Roadmap for 2023-2026, with the three main thrusts being growing the game, empowering the organisation and expanding the brand.
Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh officiated the launch of phase two of the roadmap with FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin here today.
Through the strategic plan that has been outlined, eight aspects have been placed under the thrust of growing the game, covering men's and women's football, development of youth and grassroots as well as coaching education, enhancing the development of futsal and beach football as well as focusing on referees and e-sports.
The four aspects emphasised under the second thrust of empowering the organisation are infrastructure; education; promotion of digitalisation; and empowering affiliates.
As for the third thrust of expanding the brand, the emphasis will be on three aspects, namely sponsorship, exploration of new platforms and suitable content development.
Meanwhile, Hamidin believes that phase one of the F:30 2019-2022 Roadmap has been a success, overall.
According to him, the performances of all the teams right up to the senior level showed signs that football in Malaysia is on the rise and he hoped that this will continue to be the case in every tournament under phase two of the F:30.
"For the second phase, we hope that every team will continue to excel and consistently make the finals of tournaments under the AFC (Asian Football Confederation),” he said.
The F:30 roadmap is a 12-year roadmap (2019-2030) launched by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Oct 31, 2018. It was divided into three strategic plans, with its first phase - from 2019 to 2022 - to build a solid foundation from governance, competitors and human capital development as well as infrastructure.
It is followed by the second phase (2023-2026), which is targeted to be accomplished at the Asian level, while the third phase (2027-2030) is aimed at producing a national team of world-class standard.
