KUALA NERUS, Nov 3 (Bernama) --Terengganu FC (TFC) advanced to the final of the Malaysia Cup 4-2 on aggregate after beating Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) 2-1 in the second leg of the semi-finals at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium tonight.
The hosts had a strong first half with a string of chances, but finally got the opening goal three minutes before the break through Ivan Mamut, much to the cheer of 25,000 home fans at the stadium.
Import striker Romel Morales levelled for the visitors in the 51st minute with a headed goal, but Ivan scored his brace in the 67th minute with a powerful strike to restore the lead and ensure victory for the Turtles.
TFC also beat KL City 2-1 in the first leg of the semi-final on Oct 21.
They will face defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim in the finals scheduled to take place on Dec 9
