KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- The national sailing team will field Olympians Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif and Khairulnizam Mohd Affendy in the Star Sailors League (SSL) Gold Cup Championship next month.
According to a SSL Team Malaysia statement today, the inaugural championship, akin to a sailing "World Cup”, is scheduled to be held in Gran Canaria, Spain from Nov 10-Dec 3.
Nur Shazrin, the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games women’s ILCA 6 event gold medallist, has featured in two Olympic Games - Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
The 25-year-old's success in Hangzhou also made her eligible to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Khairulnizam, meanwhile, has competed in editions of the Olympic Games, namely London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
