The country's 'special’ athletes had no problems meeting the target with a haul of seven golds, 15 silvers and 16 bronzes for a total of 38 medals as of Day 5 today.
The national contingent, led by chef de mission KM Rajendran, won three silver and three bronze medals today.
The road race cycling squad kept up the medal chase by winning one silver and one bronze through Nur Azlia Syafinaz Mohd Zais-Nurul Suhada Zainal (pilot) in women's B 69 kilometre (km) and Muhammad Adi Raimie Amizazahan in C1-C3 men's 52.2km respectively.
The badminton camp contributed two silvers, through men's singles Cheah Liek Hao (SU5-physical impairment) and Mohd Amin Burhanuddin (SL4-physical impairment) at the Binjiang Gymnasium.
The other two bronze medals were won by powerlifter Nicodemus Manggoi Moses in the 97 kg event and Haszely Elias-Jariah Zakaria in B7 mixed pairs lawn bowls.
Malaysia stand a chance of winning at least one more medal in athletics before the closing ceremony tomorrow night.
