Army Chief Muhammad Hafizuddeain Receives Maroon Beret, Honorary Airborne Wing

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Army Chief (PTD) General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan today received the Maroon Beret and the Honorary Airborne Wing of the 10th Brigade (Para) at the Dataran Parawood, 8th Royal Ranger Regiment at Terendak Camp, Melaka.

 This places Muhammad Hafizuddeain on the ranks of 69th other recipients of the highest honors for senior military officers after the Malaysian Armed Forces Chief General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman on April 17.

In a statement tonight, the Malaysian Army Headquarters Public Relations Cell said the event began with a dynamic demonstration by the 10th Parachute Brigade involving 40 officers and 1,100 personnel performing free fall parachute jumps, unarmed combat, combat swimming, tactical combat casualty care, a multi-purpose tower demonstration and section attacks.

Audience were also entertained to a free fall parachute jump using a military tactical glider from a height of 5,000 feet using an EC 725 aircraft from the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

The event also featured an Unarmed Combat Demonstration by the 361 Battery Royal Parachute Artillery Regiment, which played a defensive role, including blocking and strikes.

The event also saw the donning of the Maroon Beret and Airborne Wing by 10th Parachute Brigade (Para) Admiral Major General Datuk Khairl Azmizal Ahmad Natal Muhammad Hafizuddeain as the 30th Army Chief.
