KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Tower B of 168 Park Selayang, a skyscraper with 49 floors, is likely to become the tallest building in Bandar Selayang, Selangor, said 168 Park Selayang Sdn Bhd’s business development director Lorenz Tong.
He said the residential block, which is expected to be completed in 2026, will range from RM397,000 to about RM600,000 per unit.
“This is the last residential block that we are launching since we started the revitalisation of the project in 2021, which was formerly known as Selayang Star City.
“We want to ensure that we are able to revive this project and in future, we might look around the Petaling Jaya area,” he told reporters at the launch event here, today.
Ranging from 674 per sq ft to 1,074 per sq ft per unit, tower B comprises 956 residential units that come with a smart home system that can be controlled on a user-friendly and convenient mobile phone application.
In line with the trend of going sustainable, the mixed-development project offers various facilities that stretch over 1.61 hectares such as a herb garden and sports facilities.
It would also provide 8,000 car parks for the entire project, including 12 electric vehicle (EV) charging ports and a community mall.
The community mall would house Village Grocer as its anchor tenant and is expected to open in the third quarter of 2024.
“So far, we have received about 10 per cent of registration interest (of block B) as we just introduced it to the public.
“For the block A residential tower, which we launched this March, about 90 per cent out of the 90 per cent take-up rate that we received, have secured their loan applications,” he said.
For first-time homebuyers, Tong said they are entitled to apply for the iMiliki programme offered by the government (Ministry of Local Government Development) should they meet the requirements.
He said thanks to its parent company, Infra Segi Sdn Bhd’s experience in the industry since 1995, it is optimistic that through volume purchase, it would be able to mitigate some of the property development challenges, mainly on the rising construction costs, and offer an affordable property with value-added features.
Tong noted that the entire 168 Park Selayang project has a gross development value of RM939.50 million.
“With rising demand for more affordable housing, we hope the government could extend the iMiliki programme in the upcoming Budget 2024, especially for first-time housebuyers,” he said.
