IPOH, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- Perak FC became the last team to qualify for the Malaysia Cup semi-finals after they edged Sabah FC 1-0 in the quarter-final, return-leg clash at the Perak Stadium tonight.
Perak thus qualified on a 3-2 aggregate after both teams drew the first-leg tie 2-2 on Sept 15.
Both teams threw everything they had at each other right from the first whistle but were denied by the excellence of their respective goalkeepers.
But home team Perak finally made a breakthrough when Wan Zack Haikal netted the decisive goal in the 45th minute.
Sabah, under the guidance of Ong Kim Swee, tried to stage a fightback by switching tactics but to no avail.
In the semi-finals, Perak will take on defending Malaysia Cup champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) while Terengganu FC will face Kuala Lumpur City FC.
The first leg of the semi-finals will be on Oct 20 and the return leg on Nov 3, with the final set for Dec 9.
