Universiade: Tien Ci-liew Xun Add Another Bronze For M'sia

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian contingent picked up their fourth bronze at the World University Games (Universiade) in Chengdu, China through shuttlers Wong Tien Ci-Liew Xun in the men's doubles event, today.

The pair finished third after losing to China’s Ren Xiangyu-Tan Qiang, 13-21, 21-19, 14-21, in the semi-finals held at the Shuangliu Sports Centre Gymnasium.

Xiangyu-Qiang will take on either compatriots Zhou Hao Dong-He Ji Ting or Po-Li Wei-Lee Fang-Chih of Taiwan who play in the other semi-final fixture.

In addition to the four bronze medals, Malaysia have so far collected one gold and a silver, and are 25th in the overall medal tally.

The Games which officially began on July 28, will end on Tuesday (Aug 8).
