Medicap Aims To Cater For Secondary And Tertiary Cities, Grant Easy Access To Basic Healthcare

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- MediCap Sdn Bhd (MediCap) aims to bring medical services and equipment to secondary and tertiary cities across the nation to promote a healthier mindset among the public while granting easier access to basic healthcare to the underserved region. 

MediCap founder and chief executive officer Lim Chin Hau shared the sentiment during the recent MediCap Kluang Health Carnival 2023 event in Johor one of the many efforts done by the company to increase health awareness among the public. 

The event also saw the launch of its Kluang branch, MediCap Clinic, which had been cited as the company's first location in the peninsula and its future plans would involve introducing services such as aesthetic services, dental care and dialysis centre to the area. 

“...resident doctors of the company (MediCap) in various regions across the country are committed to promoting the importance of health among the public,” he said in a statement today. 

The health carnival was officiated by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) deputy secretary-general (Tourism) Datuk Mohd Zamri Mat Zain, representing Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

Tiong King Sing in his remarks emphasised that the health carnival aims to enhance public health knowledge while reminding individuals to take care of themselves and their families' well-being.

“Medical services play a crucial role in the tourism industry as we are seeing the raising trend in medical tourism with approximately 65,000 foreign tourists having received medical and wellness services in the year 2022 alone,” he was quoted in the statement.

Meanwhile, Shang Hai Business Media chief operating officer Warren Cheng said Shang Hai and MediCap have partnered up to work together in cultivating healthy lifestyles and promoting health concepts among the public which includes organising a series of health-themed activities.

Notable attendees at the event were MediCap Head of Healthcare Department (Southern) Dr Mah Chin Liang, Mengkibol assemblyman Chew Chong Sin, and MediCap chief sales officer Mohd Adnan Muhamad.

The event also featured a martial arts performance by World Wushu Champion Tan Cheong Min, a blood donation campaign, health talks by MediCap doctors, games, and lucky draws.
