SERI ISKANDAR, May 10 (Bernama) -- The Perak branch of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has introduced 'Rakan Media' card, which is exclusively designed for media practitioners in Perak.
UiTM Perak branch rector, Assoc Prof Dr Nur Hisham Ibrahim said the card reflected the university’s commitment to expanding its collaborative network with media personnel by facilitating their access to and from the university, as well as the facilities available there.
“We see the media as strategic partners who play an important role in disseminating the many initiatives that the university is or will be undertaking.
“UiTM Perak branch is the first university to introduce this initiative and we hope to further boost our cooperation in the future,” he said at the UiTM Perak branch Aidilfitri event here today.
Nur Hisham said the card can only be used at UiTM Seri Iskandar and that other UiTM branches are not included, but that it would be expanded later.
“So far, we have issued one card per media and we will inform our staff that the card will have access to facilities such as the library, sports centre and others in the UiTM Perak branch,” he said.
