KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- Local riding sensation Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli put up a sizzling performance in the opening race of the Red Bull Rookies Cup championship 2023 by finishing third in Race 2, held in Portugal, today.
The 16-year-old who marked his maiden international appearance yesterday to finish fifth at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, climbed on the podium today with his third place finish.
Hakim Danish riding a KTM bike, was just 0.017 seconds behind Spain’s Angel Piqueras who finished the race in top spot with a time of 26:09.348s while his fellow teammate Marcos Ruda took second place with a time of 26:09.350s.
The rider from Terengganu also finished fourth overall with 27 points.
Another Malaysian rider in the field, Danial Syahmi Ahmad Shahril, however, was not in his element when he finished in 10th spot.
Hakim Danish and Danial Syahmi will continue their campaign in the championship when the race moves to the Jerez Circuit in Spain and held on April 29 and 30.
