SEREMBAN, March 22 (Bernama) -- Jelebu MP Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias has been appointed as the new Negeri Sembilan UMNO Liaison Committee chairman replacing Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan effective today.
Jalaluddin expressed his thanks to UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for trusting him to shoulder the responsibility.
"I would also like to thank Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan who led the Negeri Sembilan UMNO (liaison committee) before.
"This is not a small responsibility, this position comes with a huge trust, especially when Negeri Sembilan UMNO will face the state election in the next few months," he said in a Facebook post here today.
Jalaluddin said he was also determined to bring the state UMNO to a new phase and ensure that the party regains people’s support and becomes relevant again.
According to him, the goal will not be achieved if he works in silos, therefore the support and cooperation of all eight UMNO divisions in the state are essential.
