Public advised to seek non-critical treatment at clinics

14/02/2023 10:15 PM

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The public is advised to seek treatment at the nearest health clinic first for non-emergency cases and give way to critical patients at the Emergency and Trauma Department of the Putrajaya Hospital.

Putrajaya Hospital director Datuk Dr Nora'i Mohd Said, in a statement today following the issue of overcrowding in the Emergency and Trauma Department as raised by a Twitter user yesterday (Feb 13), said this is to ease congestion at the hospital.

A Twitter user, Nayli Majid, had also raised other issues such as the lack of doctors and nurses on duty, insufficient seats for waiting, lack of wheelchairs and broken ones.

Referring to the tweet, Dr Nora'i said the Putrajaya Hospital was aware of overcrowding at the Emergency and Trauma Department and was appreciative and willing to accept the views presented.

According to her, between 11 pm and 1 am on Feb 13, there were 95 patients in the hospital’s Green Zone while 13 medical officers were on duty.

Dr Nora'i said the hospital provided 15 wheelchairs and anyone can ask for them at the triage counter, adding that they will identify broken wheelchairs unsuitable for use.

She added that more waiting rooms are available near the Emergency Department pharmacy counter and inside the foyer of the main lobby.
