Bernama wins two main prizes at MSOSH Media Awards 2022

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) won two main prizes at the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) Media Awards 2022 at Sunway Putra Hotel, here today

Bernama journalist Nurul Isnaini Mohd Muslim took home RM1,500 in cash when she  was announced the second place winner in the Print Media and News Portal category for her news story entitled 'Handling Bosses Who Smoke In The Office.’ 

In addition, the article 'Tiada SOP Buka Ruang Budaya Buli Doktor Pelatih’ co-written by journalists Nur Natasha Aida Ismail and Ahmad Aidil Syukri Hamzah earned third place in the same category to win a prize worth RM1,000.

Sinar Daily journalist, Siti Nurfatihah Pirdaus was the first prize winner in the category and her article titled 'Sick Building Syndrome Could Be The Reason For Your Headache At Work' earned her the RM2,500 cash prize.

Deputy Minister of Human Resources Mustapha Sakmud gave away the prizes.

The other two categories open to participants were the Television Broadcast Media and Online Video and Radio Broadcast Media & Online Radio.

Meanwhile, Mustapha in congratulating the winners expressed hope that the media would cover more health and safety issues in the workplace to create awareness in the community. 

"Information on health and safety is important as this would help reduce loss of man-hours in the country which can cause a decrease in productivity and gross domestic product (GDP)," he said.

The MSOSH Media Awards was introduced in 2019 to give recognition to health and safety practitioners and media practitioners for their role in helping to raise awareness on occupational health and safety..
