ALOR SETAR, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- The Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) squad will head to Antalya, Turkiye for a 10-day playing tour as part of its final preparations for the 2023 M-League season.
KDA FC’s majority shareholder Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar said the team would be leaving from Alor Setar on Feb 5 and return on Feb 16.
“During the 10-day tour in Turkiye, KDA FC is scheduled to play four friendly games, namely against FC Nasaf from Uzbekistan on Feb 9; FC Shakter Karaganda from Kazakhstan (Feb 10); FK Maqtaraal from Kazakhstan (Feb 12) and FC Metalist Kharkiv from Ukraine (Feb 14).
“All the matches will be played at 5pm (Turkiye time) which is at 10pm Malaysian time. KDA FC has plans to do live streaming of every match on a ‘pay per view’ initiative. The arrangement is to offer our fans a chance to watch the team in action abroad,” he told reporters here today.
Mohd Daud added that it would be the first time KDA FC are venturing into such a plan and hoped the team would take full advantage of the prospect to enhance their experience as well as strengthen teamwork within the players.
“We will also introduce our new signing for the coming season, Jonathan Boareto dos Reis or simply known as Jonathan Balotelli. The 33-year-old has seen action in the South Korean K2 League as a striker,” he said.
Mohd Daud also announced that Syukor Dagang Sdn Bhd or Syukor Burger has agreed to come in as a sponsor to a tune of RM50,000.
