KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 4 (Bernama) -- Jakel Capital Sdn Bhd is now the largest shareholder of renewable energy company Cypark Resources Bhd via a private placement.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Cypark said it had completed the placement of 176,648,892 new shares for RM67.1 million to Jakel.
Jakel is now the single largest shareholder with total direct and indirect shareholdings of 27.33 per cent, it said.
"Cypark views Jakel Capital as a new strategic Bumiputera shareholder who will help preserve Cypark's status as a Bumiputera-controlled public listed company and will be a long-term investor of Cypark.
"With the support of strong Bumiputera investors like Jakel Capital, Cypark expects to optimise our strategic market position further, enhance our shareholders base, as well as expand and strengthen our business presence locally and regionally," Cypark added.
