Prudential introduces protection plans under EPF i-Lindung scheme

08/12/2022 10:38 AM

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- Prudential Malaysia has introduced four affordable insurance and takaful protection plans under the Employees Provident Fund’s (EPF) i-Lindung scheme, which is easily accessible from EPF i-Akaun.

The four plans were PRUGuard Life and PruBSN Lindung (Life Protection) and PRUCare Life and PruBSN Cegah (Critical Illness Protection).

“With these protection plans, EPF members and their families will receive financial aid instead of fully relying on their savings or retirement funds should any unexpected life event or medical emergency happens,” it said in a statement today.

It said PRUGuard Life and PruBSN Lindung were term life insurance and takaful plans, respectively, that offered lump-sum benefits upon death or total and permanent disability to ensure families are taken care of in the event of loss of life or loss of income caused by disability.

“Customers can choose a coverage amount that best suits their needs and budgets from as low as RM10.40 for one year of coverage,” it said.

Meanwhile, PRUCare Life and PruBSN Cegah were critical illness plans that provided EPF members with financial assistance upon diagnosis of any of the 43 types of critical illnesses as well as dengue fever.

“Members can use the lump-sum payout to fund medical treatments or mitigate the loss of income caused by the illness with a premium or contribution from as low as RM8.40 for one year of coverage,” it said.

Prudential said EPF members could also sign up for the protection plans instantly by completing a few simple health-related questions.

“Upon signing up, they can easily view their certificate and policy in just a few clicks via the PRUServices feature on the Pulse by Prudential app that is available for free on the App Store and Google Play Store,” it said.

It added that customers have access to an array of health and wealth management features in Pulse app.

The Prudential Malaysia’s EPF i-Lindung plans were designed to allow more Malaysian families to get the most out of life by making healthcare affordable and accessible.
