GUA MUSANG, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Incumbent Gua Musa Member of Parliament and UMNO veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah who has won the seat 11 times, suffered a shocking defeat to PAS-Bersatu candidate Datuk Mohd Azizi Abu Naim when vote counting for the 15th General Election (GE15) ended today.
Mohd Azizi won by a slim 163-vote majority after polling 21,826 votes while Tengku Razaleigh who represented Barisan Nasional (BN), managed 21,663 votes.
The result was announced by Gua Musang Returning Officer Ab Pattah Hasbullah.
Tengku Razaleigh, 85, or popularly known as Ku Li, is also the longest serving elected representative in the country after having served 12 terms in Parliament and state assembly.
He started his road to the Parliment when he contested the Ulu Kelantan Parliamentary seat (now known as Gua Musang) in 1974.
In the GE14, Tengku Razaleigh won the Gua Musang Parliamentary seat by a 3,913-vote majority, beating candidates from PAS and PKR.
