K-KOMM Sec-gen appointed as UKM-GSB Industry Advisor

BANGI, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- The secretary-general of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek has been appointed as one of the four industry advisors at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Graduate School of Business (UKM-GSB) or UKM Graduate School of Business.

Mohammad's letter of appointment was received by K-KOMM deputy sec-gen (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Mastura Ahmad Mustafa on his behalf at the UKM-GSB alumni recognition ceremony here tonight.

The appointment letter was presented by UKM's deputy vice-chancellor for Industry and Community Partnerships, Prof Datuk Dr Norazah Mohd Nordin.

According to a statement by UKM which was distributed to the media at the ceremony, the three other industry advisors are Affin Bank Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah Wan Ali, country chief executive and director of Bureau Veritas CIF Southeast Asia Operating Region, Datuk Mohd Nizam Abdul Malik and Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd board member, Manokaran Mottain.

The statement said the appointed UKM-GSB industry advisors, among others, would play the role of providing advisory services related to the quality of the academic programme curriculum and matters related to accreditation at the university in question.

At the event, Dr Norazah also launched the GSB-Consortium of Malaysian Universities (CMU) Scholarship Fund worth RM100,000

The CMU fund, chaired by one of UKM's alumni Datuk Seri James Wong Tze Wei, aims to further increase the university's community activities and corporate social responsibility.
