Signify launches new range of lighting products

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Signify Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Signify) has launched the new WiZ range of lighting products, which includes its extension of the Philips Smart LED with WiZ connected portfolio that works with the WiZ smartphone app.

Signify is formerly known as Philips Lighting and is a company that provides lighting for professionals, consumers and internet of things.

Signify Malaysia chief executive officer Sukanto Aich said Signify is investing to bring in more sustainable lighting products for businesses and consumers in Malaysia.

“Currently there are about 5,000 homes in Malaysia that are connected with WiZ and I hope that there are more consumers who will adopt this technology.

“Understanding that the adoption of smart technology has increased, the company is very excited to expand the range of smart lighting products,” he said at the product launching at Petaling Jaya today.

At the event, Signify also launch the new version of the WiZ App V2 with new technology embedded, including SpaceSense and Matter which further amplifies WiZ’s continuous effort to provide thoughtful products and easy-to-use technology that improves daily life and complements the homes for users.

In a statement, Signify said SpaceSense is a tool that enabled users to set smart lights to be triggered by motion without additional sensors and it detected movement via Wi-Fi signal sensing technology.

It said the WiZ range of products is also among the first smart lighting players to adopt industry-unifying technology Matter, a universal open standard enabling compatible devices and systems to securely connect and interact with each other and is supported by all the main technologies such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

It added that with the adoption of Matter, users have a more pleasant and simplified experience in terms of purchase and control as the technology provided a standard for devices to communicate seamlessly across technologies and platforms.
