CYBERJAYA, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) has forged cooperation with the Chief Government Security Office (CGSO) to empower the field of security and the development of cyber expertise.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked between CyberSecurity Malaysia and CGSO today is an effort to strengthen the country’s cyber security infrastructure.
CSM chief executive officer Datuk Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab said the MoU this time would focus on developing the competence of government officials in enhancing cyber security.
“Among the fields of cooperation agreed upon are the Awareness and Training Programme, CGSO Personnel Development Programme based on the Best Practices, Disclosure for Cyber Security Certification and Cyber Security Incident Management,” he said at the MoU signing ceremony here today.
He said the latest technological developments like Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics and Blockchain had created a world without borders, thus opening up space for irresponsible parties to exploit and threaten national security.
Meanwhile, CGSO Government Security director-general Rahimi Ismail said a joint working committee, to be chaired alternately by the CGSO director-general and CSM chief executive officer, would be set up to enhance the implementation of the MoU.
“Specific working group members will also be appointed to implement and ensure the success of the MoU by holding meetings periodically,” he said.
