KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Debutants Team Haq created a sensation when they stunned defending champions Todak 4-2 to emerge champions in the 10th edition of the Grand Finals of the Mobile Professional Legends (MPL) MY today.
Having toiled for more than two months for the victory, Team Haq have now qualified for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M4 World Championship to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia next year.
Today’s game saw Team Haq showcasing their superiority in the first and second rounds to take the lead before Todak bounced back to level the scores in the third and fourth rounds.
But Team Haq were not to be denied as they rose to the occasion in the last two rounds to confirm the title.
Team Haq founder Muhammad Aimanulhaq Zaharudin said he did not expect them to win considering this is their first MPL outing.
“We are a rookie team and we entered the competition looking to gain experience. Anyway, Todak are a very good team, so that’s why this win is very unexpected,” he told Bernama.
Team Haq comprised Muhammad Syafizan, Aiman Zairie Anuar, Poh Chun Wai, Aimin Zairie Anuar dan Mohamad Nilzaihan while Todak were represented by Idreen Abdul Jamal, Wan Usman, Zikry Shamsuddin Muhammad Danial Mohamad Fuad and Muhammad Qayyum Ariffin.
