MELAKA, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- Bank Rakyat is committed to improve financial literacy among children and school students through the Nuri Kuasa 10 programme, which used the approach of awareness campaigns, savings contests and organising activities.
Chief marketing and communications officer Nizam Sani said the pandemic has changed people’s lifestyles and the bank is committed to play a role in imparting financial knowledge to the younger generation.
“Therefore, various initiatives such as ‘Jom Menabung Kuasa 10’ contest, Nuri Carnival and ‘Impian Nuri Kuasa 10’ will be implemented under this programme which runs from today until Jan 31, 2023,” he told reporters after launching the programme here today.
He said Melaka became the programme’s first tour state before it is rolled out to other schools in 10 states throughout Malaysia.
Nizam said the Jom Menabung Kuasa 10 contest offered a total prize worth almost RM280,000 to the school with the highest deposit or savings, most new members of the Bank Rakyat Nuri Club and the student with the highest fund collection each month.
He said Bank Rakyat is also offering a special promotion of RM10 for the opening of Savings Account-i and 10 sen for Nuri Club membership fees.
He added that the bank aimed to increase the opening of Nuri Saving Account-i to between 20 to 30 per cent nationwide through the implemented programme.
