3,292 MICRO-ENTREPRENEURS TRAINED UNDER INSKEN AS OF AUG 2022

 KUALA LUMPUR -- A total of 3,292 micro-entrepreneurs have been trained and coached under the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (INSKEN) as of Aug this year.

In a statement today, INSKEN said it has established 67 strategic collaborations through the implementation of training and coaching programmes for entrepreneurs under the regulatory control of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM).

 “INSLKEN and AIM are confident that efforts to assist entrepreneurs will have a greater impact with the cooperation and support from various parties.

 “Both agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP) are always committed to assist entrepreneurs via various training and coaching programmes planned for this year,” the statement added.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES, MHHOLIDAYS EXTEND MATTA FAIR DEALS ONLINE UNTIL SEPT 11

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia Airlines and its tour operating arm, MHholidays, are extending their Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2022 deals online until this Sunday (Sept 11).

In a statement today, Malaysia Airlines said the move would allow holidaymakers to continue enjoying exceptional savings on airfares, other value-for-money perks, and holiday packages for immediate travel until April 12, 2023.

It said customers could enjoy a MATTA Fair discount of up to 45 per cent off airfares to all domestic and selected international networks from greater Asian destinations like Singapore, Bali, Bangkok, and Phuket; South Asia, specifically Kochi, Bengaluru, and more; and East Asia, specifically Seoul.

“Also on offer are popular destinations in the Australasia region, such as Auckland, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney,” it said.

MRCS APPEALS FOR DONATIONS TO ASSIST FLOOD VICTIMS IN PAKISTAN 

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian Red Cresent (MRCS) is appealing to all parties to donate and support the Society’s efforts to assist the people of Pakistan following the recent floods in the country.

Its chairperson Tunku Temenggong of Kedah, Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah said the damages in Pakistan were very worrying and immediate action must be taken to aid the flood victims. 

Contributions can be made to the BSMM-Pakistan Monsoon Flood Relief Fund and sent to Bank Account No. 514422102657 (Maybank) in the account name of: Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia (Malaysian Red Crescent Society).

ZAKRI ABDUL HAMID JOINS UCSI UNIVERSITY TO HELM INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE

KUALA LUMPUR -- International Science Council foundation fellow Tan Sri Dr Zakri Abdul Hamid has joined UCSI University as the founding director of its International Institute for Science Diplomacy and Sustainability.

According to UCSI University, Zakri is the joint chairman of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology and a senior fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. 

“He is also the fifth holder of the Tun Hussein Onn Chair in International Studies at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies Malaysia, a former science adviser to the Prime Minister and member of the Scientific Advisory Board to the-then United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon,” it said in a statement today.
