KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) and Volvo Trucks Malaysia (Volvo) have joined hands to improve driving safety and co-create sustainable solutions for the heavy vehicles industry in the country.
The collaboration was enabled through a signing ceremony by the managing directors of PLUS and Volvo, Datuk Azman Ismail and Anthony O' Connell respectively at Persada PLUS recently.
In a statement today, Azman said the collaboration involves developing a heavy vehicle safety programme to equip drivers with better safety knowledge and handling of heavy vehicles, which will be extended to PLUSTrack members to further enhance their safety on the highways.
"The programme aims to uplift the experience of our commercial vehicle customers whilst adding value via loyalty rewards, privileges and educational sharing by our partners," he said.
Meanwhile, Azman added that the collaboration will facilitate the future development of electric vehicle charging stations for commercial vehicles on PLUS highways.
He said PLUS is currently planning the development of charging infrastructures needed to support passenger electric vehicles on the highways.
"This will enable us to include our preparation for electric trucks and commercial vehicles in the future," he said.
