LAUNCH OF M’ROS BRAND, MOU ON BENTONG GINGER HONEY WILL CREATE MORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- The official launch of the M’Ros brand of Malaysian giant freshwater prawn broodstock by BioNexus Status company GK Aqua Sdn Bhd (GK Aqua) and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchange between Tamara Nanoetech and Nahrich Honey Resources on Bentong ginger honey will open up more job opportunities in the aquaculture and agriculture sectors.

The MoU exchange ceremony between the companies, held at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2022 was witnessed by Agriculture and Food Industries Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee.

The launch of the M’Ros brand would enable hatcheries to source disease-free and sustainably produced broodstock and supply quality post-larvae giant freshwater prawns with a faster growth rate and harvesting cycle.

Meanwhile, the MoU between Tamara Nanoetech and Nahrich Honey Resources which focuses to co-develop and market value-added products from Bentong ginger and honey is expected to reduce ginger import and increase the self-sufficiency ratio (SSR) for ginger in Malaysia, which currently stands at 18.9 per cent.

Bioeconomy Corporation’s chairman Senator Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, in a statement said such collaboration would improve skill-set and technological know-how to create a more sustainable ecosystem in both sectors.
