RANHILL UTILITIES BHD’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Ranhill Solar I Sdn Bhd (RSI) has received a notification letter from the Energy Commission (EC) pertaining to the 50MWac large-scale solar photovoltaic plant under the large-scale solar phase 4@MEnTARI in Perak.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the EC, through its letter dated Aug 8, 2022, notified RSI of the extension of the financial closing date from June 30, 2022 to Sept 30, 2022.

“The EC also notified the extension of the scheduled commercial operation date to Dec 31, 2023 and the effective period of the power purchase agreement (PPA) with a four-year extension with a total period of 25 years, as well as related agreements and warranties to be extended and aligned with the latest effective PPA period of 25 years.

“With the new effective period announced, the facility will be operated and maintained until 2048,” it noted.

BANK RAKYAT continues its commitment to improving the digital economy of rural residents by cultivating cashless payment methods through the bank’s cashless village carnival in Desa Kencana, Felda Sahabat, Lahad Datu, Sabah.

In a statement today, Bank Rakyat said the carnival, which was held from Aug 6 to 7, was aimed to transform the lifestyle of rural communities, including those in the Felda area, through adapting the use of banking and electronic payments. 

In addition, Bank Rakyat also launched a cashless school programme at SMK Desa Kencana, SK Sahabat 16 and SK Sahabat 4.

“The programme aims to help increase the level of digital financial literacy among school students in line with the rapid development of technology in the business market through cashless payment services,” said Bank Rakyat.

FASZZ TECHNOLOGY (M) SDN BHD, Malaysia’s only halal-certified logistics and ride-hailing operator, is acquiring a 51 per cent stake in Incite Foodtech Sdn Bhd.

In a statement today, the company said the move is part of its effort to diversify its offerings while still adhering to the principles of “Halalan Toyyiban” and Shariah guidelines.

“The acquisition will enable us to advance our ambition of building a first-of-its-kind unified halal ecosystem, from food delivery service, grocery marketplace and ride-sharing to Islamic financial technology,“ said FASZZ founder Datuk Ishak Mohd Ishtiaq.

 Incite Foodtech owns various beverage and food brands such as Union Artisan Coffee, Hope Coffee, Eggdicted and Wondermama, among others.

XOX BHD’s subsidiary, One XOX Sdn Bhd has launched its first flagship in Kelantan via the opening of the XOX Partnership Programme (XPP) outlet.

In a statement today, One XOX said the group leverages its dealer base through its special entrepreneurship programme in expanding its business.

“The One XOX entrepreneurship programme is designed for everyone, and it has proven to be pandemic-proof, where it had helped 24,000 dealers to generate income during Movement Control Order with a sustainable business model to grow in the long term,” said One XOX chief executive officer Bobie Farid Shamsuddin.

The new XPP outlet in Kelantan is the 14th XPP outlet in the country.
