KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- The free health screening programme organised by health service provider, Healtopedia Sdn Bhd, at the Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PAWE) in Lembah Pantai recently, was aimed at alleviating the financial burden and improving the wellbeing of the B40 group.

Healtopedia in a statement today said the inaugural programme organised by the company on Aug 7 saw 450 people in the constituency seeking for free health screening and benefitting from the programme.

The health screening was also targetted to B40 individuals aged 40 and above, as well as the contributors of Social Security Organisations (Socso).

Healtopedia Muaz Shakrol Bahadi was quoted in the statement as saying that the programme was organised in line with the Health Ministry’s objectives and so far, the company had carried out 40,000 health screenings involving the local communities and refugees.

Nevertheless, Healtopedia targets to increase the number to 100,000, especially involving the B40 group, with the help of over 1,650 medical professionals.

“This target can be achieved with the support from members of Parliament, assemblyman, community leaders, associations and charity organisations in Malaysia,” the statement read.
