JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- The Johor edition of the Kembara Merdeka Keluarga Malaysia (KMKM) 2022, scheduled for Aug 14-16, will highlight the uniqueness of the culture, food and lifestyle of the local community in the state.
State Education, Information and Communication Committee chairman Norlizah Noh said KMKM was held in conjunction with the 2022 National Month and Flying Jalur Gemilang campaign to boost the spirit of unity among the people.
She said the three-day convoy would tour Mersing, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru, Kulai, Kluang, Batu Pahat and Muar.
“The convoy which will see the passing of the Jalur Gemilang baton at the border check point of every state will start at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ungku Husin in Mersing and end at Laman Maharani in Muar.
“Various activities will be held at each check point such as exhibitions, colouring contest, Bintang Patriotik competition and so on,” she said in an interview with Johor FM which was also broadcast live on here today.
Norlizah said the state government in collaboration with the state Information Department will organise the launching of the state-level National Month celebration and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign at 4 pm on Aug 14 at Padang Bukit Kerajaan in Kota Tinggi.
The event will be officiated by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
“Therefore, as Malaysians, let’s fly the Jalur Gemilang at business premises and at our home to show our love for the country,” she said.
