PASIR SALAK, July 1 (Bernama) -- The Perak-level Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (AKM) or Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour opened its doors today with more than 30,000 visitors expected to attend the three-day programme.

The AKM Tour will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Sunday with various activities that have been carefully line-up starting today including Keluarga Malaysia Sale, Small and Medium Industry Entrepreneur Sale and JaminKerja Keluarga Malaysia Career Carnival.

Expected to steal the visitors’ attention are the 'Zikir Berkah', 'Gotong-Royong Rakyat' and daily lucky draws, to take place at the Dato’ Sagor Circuit, in Kampung Telok, Kampung Gajah, next to the Pasir Salak Historical Complex.

According to the Deputy State Secretary (Development) and State Economic Planning Unit director, Halizah Sipun, among the attractions in the Perak edition are the government service counters, and exhibition booths set up by ministries, departments and agencies, brought directly to the people.

“We also expect the 'JaminKerja Keluarga Malaysia Career Carnival’ will get the attention of visitors, which received the cooperation of the industry and employers in an effort to revive the economy together,” Halizah said.

Meanwhile, Pasir Salak Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said to enliven the three-day programme, a people's Gotong-Royong is also organised involving the making of the famous 'Gulai Kawah Daging' by slaughtering 10 cows.

“This is apart from the lucky draw to reach the target of 30,000 visitors. The people of Perak need to seize this opportunity for the sake of the unity of Keluarga Malaysia, regardless of background,” he told Bernama.

The AKM Tour, inspired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, is a continuation of the successful organisation of the 100-Day AKM programme at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from Dec 9 to 12 last year.
