AFFIN BANK BHD has won the Outstanding Digital CX for Financial Inclusion award for its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Colony mobile app at the Digital CX Awards 2022.

This marks the third consecutive recognition from the Digital CX Awards for the bank’s capabilities in serving SMEs digitally, the bank said in a statement today. 

Rolled out in 2019, SME Colony is the first SME community-centric mobile app in Malaysia to help SMEs improve business knowledge, enhance financial well-being and expand commercial networking through a digital platform.

Affin Bank president and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said the SME Colony app has undergone continuous user interface upgrades and content enrichment as the flagship digital initiative in Affin Bank's roadmap to reinvent customer experience and SME journeys digitally.

H3C, a digital solutions provider, is partnering IPENET Solutions Sdn Bhd with the aim of advancing the digitalisation of Penang enterprises, especially in the manufacturing industry.

In a statement, H3C Malaysia general manager Rockies Ma said IPENET Solutions, which is one of H3C’s main partners, plays a significant role as an information technology solutions provider in Penang.

Meanwhile, IPENET Solutions sales manager Teng Khek Khoon said with H3C’s support, the company is able to provide full-fledged solutions and better delivery lead time to its clients in overcoming business challenges.

UMEDIC GROUP BHD (UMC), which is seeking a listing on Bursa Malaysia, today signed an underwriting agreement with Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd (AHIBB), its principal adviser, sponsor, sole placement agent and sole underwriter.

UMC’s initial public offering involves the public issue of 97.22 million new UMC shares. 

In a joint statement, they said AHIBB is the sole underwriter of up to 31.78 million shares made available for application by the Malaysian public and eligible directors, employees and business associates of UMC.

UMC executive director and group chief executive officer Lim Taw Seong said the company aims to further strengthen its position as a distributor of medical devices in the local market and a manufacturer of medical consumables for distribution in both the local and international markets.
