KANGAR, May 16 (Bernama) -- The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, today launched the guidelines and procedures for playing and singing the state anthem ‘Aamiin-Aamiin’ which takes effect from today.
According to Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs), the procedure contains three elements that needed to be done when singing and listening to the Perlis state anthem.
“It requires a person to stand at attention, with the head slightly bowed and not looking upwards as a sign of humility.
“The right hand should be placed on the back of the left hand and (both hands) then placed in the front of the body,” it said in the guidelines that were distributed during the launching ceremony at the Perlis Health Department Auditorium here.
Also in attendance were Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and their three children Sharifah Khatreena Nuraniah, Sharifah Farah Adriana and Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra.
The Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad was also present.
Meanwhile, Syed Danial said the procedure for singing the state or national anthem was to portray their respective identities to the public.
He said each state or country had three common identities, namely the flag, coat of arms and anthem.
“The Perlis State Anthem Enactment 2021 came into force on January 1 after obtaining the consent of the Raja of Perlis and it should be implemented by all quarters after this,” he said.
RTM Music Services Division director Datuk Mokhzani Ismail said that, as a Perlis native, he was proud to be able to rearrange the musical composition at the beginning of the state anthem.
“I received an order from the Raja Muda of Perlis to rearrange the state anthem Aamiin-Aamiin and change the lyrics from 'Robbal' to 'Rabbil',” he said, adding that it was not an easy task.
“I presented several versions of the composition to the Raja Muda of Perlis and finally one version was selected and obtained the consent of the Raja of Perlis,” he said.
